Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and regardless of if it is your first Valentine’s Day together or your 25th, it can be a great way to shower some extra love and attention on your partner. Classic dinner out or a romantic vacation can be a great way to celebrate, but for a personal touch, we prefer the classic breakfast-in-bed. We’ve selected 5 great recipes to surprise your partner with this Valentine’s Day, listed from the easiest to most difficult. Whatever you decide, just make sure you spend the day letting your significant other know how much you care.

1 – Banana Mango Smoothie (Very Easy)
This is a no-fail smoothie recipe for those of us not super capable in the kitchen. Yummy, smooth and sure to delight!
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 bananas
- 3 cups frozen mango pieces
- 1 1/4 cup almond milk
Instructions:
- Blend well
- Enjoy!
2 – Berry Granola Bowl (Easy)
This recipe is easy and very customize-able – switch in your partner’s favorite fruits and toppings and serve with fresh fruit juice or coffee.
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup raspberries
- 1/4 cup blackberries
- 1/5 cup blueberries
- 1/5 cup strawberries (cut lengthwise)
- 1 tbsp sliced almonds
- 1 tbsp shaved coconut
Instructions:
- Place 1/2 cup of yogurt in each bowl
- Wash all the fruit and core and slice strawberries
- Arrange the fruit evenly on top of each bowl
- Sprinkle with sliced almonds and coconut
3 – Baked French Toast (Medium Difficulty)
Baked french toast takes a little more time and prep but after you pop it in the oven, you can hop back into bed with your sweetie for some cuddles while the smell of baked french toast fills the house.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1/2 loaf of bread (thick cut)
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 – 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease a small baking dish
- In a large bowl mix all ingredients except the bread
- Chop bread into small cubes (approx 3/4 inch) and spread inside baking dish
- Pour wet mixture over bread, ensuring all paces are thoroughly soaked
- Let sit for 10-15 minutes
- Bake in oven for 25-40 minutes, until top is crisp and center is dry and spongy
- Serve warm
4 – Crepes (Difficult)
Crepes are a great, versatile recipe that can be customized together in bed. Serve on a tray with assorted fillings (chocolate spread, fruit, yogurt, whipped cream) and put them together just the way you both like them.
Makes 2-4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 3 tbsp melted butter (unsalted)
- Various fillings
Instructions:
- Using a blender, combine butter, eggs, flour, sugar, salt, and milk
- Blend until smooth (approx 30s) and look for bubbles forming on top of the mixture
- Let batter sit for 15min
- Heat a 12 in non-stick skillet over medium and coat with butter
- Add 1/3 cup of batter and swirl to cover the bottom of the skillet
- Cook to golden brown on bottom (approx 2-3min)
- Loosen edges of crepes and gently flip with your fingers (be careful not to burn yourself)
- Cook for 1min more
- Stack cooked crepes on wax paper and serve with your preferred fillings
